David Blackburn – Volunteer
David joined Sea Shepherd UK as a volunteer in 2016 and is well used to challenges. Last year he joined Mark on the Source To Sea Challenge, a 222 mile walk/kayak expedition covering the whole length of the River Severn, the longest river in the United Kingdom. The S2S challenge raised enough money for Sea Shepherd UK to purchase a new RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) for use on its global marine conservation campaigns.
Before becoming a volunteer he was a strong supporter of Sea Shepherd. He was often found on beach cleans around Norfolk and Liverpool, spending most of his nights and weekends chatting to the many people that flock to Horesey beach during the seal pupping season.
Dave was also part of the team that went to help the young male Sperm Whale that was stranded on Hunstanton Beach in Norfolk last year.
